Microsoft's Build 2014 conference tickets are sold out.

According to Microsoft, the three-day conference sold out of tickets approximately 24 hours after registration opened on Jan. 14.

Taking place between April 2 and April 4 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif., people who are still interested in attending the Microsoft conference can join a wait list by signing in with their Microsoft account.

According to Microsoft, the full price to attend the conference is $2,095 while the academic cost is $995.

The sessions for the Microsoft Build Developer Conference have not been revealed but are confirmed, so far, to start as early as 9 a.m. PST. Keynotes are also scheduled for the first day, on April 2, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PST.

Build 2014 is taking place two months early compared to last year when it was held in June. Microsoft is rumored to announce Windows Phone 8.1 and a preview of Windows 9.

According to WinSuperSite's Paul Thurrott, changes with the next operating system update might include the return of the "Start" menu, which may be included with the Windows 8.1 update.

He noted Windows 9 was given the codename "Threshold" while developers still work on the operating system.

"Maturing and fixing the 'Metro' design language used by Windows will be a major focus area of Threshold," Thurrott noted. "It's not clear what changes are coming, but it's safe to assume that a windowed mode that works on the desktop is part of that."

Thurrott added that the "most interesting " aspect about Threshold is how it "recasts" the Windows 8 operating system as the next Vista platform.

The Verge noted Microsoft has confirmed tickets were sold out but did not share specific numbers and figures. The 2013 Build conference included more than 6,000 developers.
