According to one researcher, Apple may seek one of two directions for their sixth-generation iPhone.
DisplaySearch released its 2014 forecast in tech, and the iPhone 6 is projected to see a screen-size increase.
One possibility for the iPhone 6 is a 4.7-inch display with 1,600x900 resolution at 386 pixels per inch (ppi). The second route Apple might go far is the 5.5-inch display with 1,920x1,090 resolution at 401ppi.
If either screen size is proven accurate, it might put the iPhone 6 in direct competition against the Samsung Galaxy S4, which sports a screen size of 5 inches and 1,920x1,080 resolution.
As Latino Post noted, the next iPhone has been reported to maintain its 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is the same megapixel count the iPhone has maintained since the iPhone 5.
According to China's CTech, two images surfaced of what is claimed to be the rear shell of the sixth-generation iPhone. An image of a screen also appeared online. The screen that may be part of the rear shell appears to be larger than the current 4-inch display seen on iPhones since the iPhone 5's debut in 2012.
Apple's latest smartphones, the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, have 4-inch screens with 1,136x640 pixels at 326ppi. Apple has utilized the specifications since the iPhone 5, which launched in September 2012.
Along with iPhone 6 projections, the next iPad received a forecast as well. According to DisplaySearch, via CNET, the next-generation iPad could also receive a screen size increase to 12.9 inches with 2,732x2,048 resolution and 265ppi while utilizing TFT LCD technology. The current Apple tablet, iPad Air, sports a 9.7-inch display with 2,048x1,536 pixels at 264ppi.
