Days before appearing on the Grammy Awards, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis announced a special performance gig will take place on Jan. 23 with mobile carrier T-Mobile providing support.

Tickets will go on sale on Jan. 17 for 1,400 fans to attend the special performance at the Belasco Theatre the following week.

"My appreciation for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis seems to be the worst kept secret in the social hemisphere," said T-Mobile CEO John Legere. "Their ability to shake things up and keep it real for their fans is a lot like the Un-carrier moves we've been making in the wireless world, so I'm really excited to team up and present this special performance for all of their fans."

It isn't the first time Legere had a connection with the musical duo, who are nominated for seven Grammys.

As Latino Post reported on Jan. 7, Legere "crashed" an International CES party hosted by rival mobile carrier AT&T featuring Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Security later removed Legere from the event despite the CEO reportedly having passes to attend the performance courtesy of Macklemore's agent. It is unknown if security was ordered by AT&T, conference organizers, or others.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are nominated for Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video, to name of few, for their efforts on their album "The Heist." The album peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Fans interested in attending the special performance can visit Ticketmaster.com for tickets on Jan. 17.

This isn't the first time T-Mobile teamed with a musician for a special performance. On Oct. 9 last year, T-Mobile teamed with Shakira for a gig for 7,500 fans at Bryant Park in New York City. According to Legere, tickets sold out in about 45 minutes courtesy of social media.
