Apple is set to unveil not just one of its newest offerings, but three. The Cupertino-based tech giant is set to start its year with a bang with the iPad Air 3, iPhone 5se and a new Apple Watch to boot.
The iPad Air 3 was noticeably absent last September when Apple unveiled the iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 4. While many Apple users have already dismissed the iPad Air 3 as a distant memory, it appears that it will be released in March of this year, along with a "budget iPhone" and a new Apple Watch.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is looking to push through the release of the iPad Air 3, touting it to be a slightly smaller version of the iPad Pro. The 9.7-inch tablet is said to be a "major upgrade" from its predecessor, the iPad Air 2. It will have the features of the iPad Pro, albeit slightly smaller. This means that the iPad Air 3 will see the fast and powerful A9 chip. The tablet is also said to have a better camera, boasting of a possible rear LED flash, which will be a first for tablets.
Another highly anticipated release for March is the iPhone 5se -- not the iPhone 6c as it was previously thought to be called. Back in the day, Apple did release a budget iPhone called the iPhone 5c, which had a plastic build as opposed to its flagship back then, the iPhone 5s.
Mac Rumors teased that the 4-inch phone will be a major upgrade of the iPhone 5s. It will also sport a better camera like the iPhone 6s, and is said to have curved edges. It is also said to be given the powerful A9 chip, which makes it a step better than its predecessor. At a price of $450 for the 16GB model, it is a budget-friendly alternative for those who want to look into getting a new iPhone this year.
According to sources, a new Apple Watch may debut this year. There were already rumors that Apple will be focusing on new bands and software for its new line of wearables this year. These new bands include the rubberized Sport bands, Hermès bands, and even a "space black" color for the Milanese Loop.
While Apple has not given any official word on the March 15 schedule, rumors abound that Apple will press for a March 15 launch, wanting to also take advantage of an earlier release.
