Filming for the movie version of popular erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" has begun, as evidenced by photos released from the set.
The producers of the film, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, are shown in photos with the original novel's author, E. L. James.
De Lucaalso posted a photo of himself with Brunetti and James as they watched scenes directed by Sam Taylor Johnson. "Dana and I with the great E L James watching Sam Taylor Johnson's brilliant dailies!" he tweeted on Tuesday, along with this photo.
On Tuesday, E.L. James also posted a photo of La Grande Année Rose Bollinger, a champagne that is mentioned in the first novel, along with the caption "A Fine Vintage..."
A Facebook photo was also posted that shows E.L. James sitting in a director's chair along with Michael De Luca.
Filming has begun in Vancouver, British Columbia for the first of three films that will be made based on the racy trilogy.
Rumors that the books were going to be condensed into one film were dispelled earlier this month. HollywoodLife and Perez Hilton both published a bogus story that only one film would be produced.
"The movie script has condensed the entire trilogy into just one story," wrote Hilton, citing a "statement" from the production company and other rumors.
After the story was published, Universal Pictures told TooFab.com that rumors about the books being compressed into one film are false.
A tweet last June from E.L. James further confirmed that three films will be made. "@SabrinaMarieA8 three books. Three films. :)," read the tweet.
It was also recently reported that co-stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who are playing Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Grey, will be shooting some scenes in Miami. According to the report, the movie's co-stars will also be traveling to Tenerife, Spain to shoot the honeymoon scenes that appear in the third novel.
Dornan, who was not immediately embraced by fans following the abrupt exit of "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam, is finally being supported by "Fifty Shades" fans. James posted a photo of herself on Instagram making a reference to Dornan while playing Scrabble, which garnered 6,600 likes. Other tweets and references James has posted about Dornan have been similarly embraced.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" will open in theaters on Valentine's Day weekend in 2015.
