The late Alan Rickman came alive again in Disney's newly released teaser for "Alice Through the Looking Glass."

The British actor, who died last January, was featured in the film's sneak peek as the voice behind Absolem, the Blue Caterpillar. Rickman's portrayal of the character was first showcased in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," which was released in 2010.

"You've been gone too long, Alice," Rickman narrated in the teaser, as Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is shown coming across numerous surprises on her quest to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). "There are matters that cannot be neglected. Hurry."

Watch the teaser below.

Joining Wasikowska and Depp in recurring roles are Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the Red Queen, Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat, and Michael Sheen as the White Rabbit, Entertainment Weekly listed. The new spot also revealed Sacha Baron Cohen's portrayal of the half-clock, half-human creature named Time.

The follow-up film, which was directed by James Bobin from a script penned by Linda Woolverton, picks up three years after the events of the original movie, the news outlet noted. Alice, having just recently returned home from her adventures in Asia, must return to the astonishing world of Underland and rescue the aging Mad Hatter from tragic death at the hands of the ticking Chronosphere, a gold device that powers all of time.

"She faces that moment that a lot of young adults do in their 20s, which is that the way you spend your time is really important of what you're going to accomplish in your life," producer Suzanne Todd told Entertainment Weekly in an interview late in 2015. "She has to face this decision of what she's going to do with the rest of her life."

Todd also stressed out that Alice will be her same fiercely independent self in the sequel.

"What I'm hoping our [first] movie did was root into this moment of female empowerment," Told added, as quoted by news outlet. "Hopefully now we've made that an even richer experience for people who love Alice."

As for the intrigue behind the Chromosphere, Todd told Entertainment Weekly that the device is something "everyone wants, Alice needs it, but the Red Queen wants most of all."

She went on to describe Time as the "kookiest" of all characters, the news outlet added. The Chronosphere also keeps Time's biggest secret -- the ability to travel back and forth through different time periods.

"Alice Through the Looking Glass" bows in theaters on May 27, 2016.
