"Parenthood" returns to NBC this Thursday, Jan. 16 with an all-new episode called "Jump Ball."

According to a press release issued by NBC, the theme of the upcoming episode is that "mistakes are hard for Braverman's to forget, especially without an apology."

In the last episode, titled "Stay A Little Longer," the plotline thickened between Julia and Joel's rocky marriage due to Julia's inappropiate relationship with Ed.

Tension between the three escalated during a school auction after Ed got drunk and made a big spectacle when he tried talking to Julia. That's when Joel stepped in and ended up pushing Ed to the ground, warning him to stay away from his wife. After the auction Joel confronts Julia wanting to know if there's anything going on between her and Ed. But instead of admitting the truth about their kiss, Julia lies and pretends that there's nothing happened with them.

Later on, Julia fessed up, revealing that Ed tried to kiss her. However, their relationship seems to be on the brink of divorce as Joel doesn't take the confession lightly and refused to discuss how it happened or consider marriage counselling, notes the A.V. Club.

In the upcoming episode, Joel will continue to avoid dealing with the problems in his marriage by spending more time at work and away from his wife.

In addition, Camille returns home to an ecstatic Zeek, although not everyone makes an appearance at her welcome home party, according to TV Guide.

Furthermore, Hank confronts problems with Adam while the two spends time together, while Amber tries avoid dealing with her issues.

"Parenthood" airs on Thursday, Jan. 16 with "Jump Ball" on NBC at 10 p.m. EST.
