For their music video for their new single "History," English-Irish boy band One Direction featured sceneries and spots in Peru.
The recently released video of the famous group of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson showed their adventures since the band was formed -- this included a visit to Machu Picchu, the ancient city site in Peru.
Ojo noted that scenes of Machu Picchu were seen in the video, which also included other beautiful adventures of One Direction in various countries during their 5-year career.
Some of the greatest attractions in the area include the Pyramids of Giza, the Liwa Desert and the Arabian city of Petra.
In addition, La Prensa claimed that the video was released a few weeks after the group's indefinite hiatus from the music scene. It claimed that the new song was the final track on their latest album "Made in the A.M."
Also part of the music video tribute was former band member Zayn Malik, who left the group earlier to live a normal life.
The same report explained that the "History" single served as a touching way to remember all the adventures of the group since they started their careers in 2010.
Band member Liam Payne claimed that this new song is a modern version of the hit "You've Got a Friend in Me."
"More than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing, One Direction, in the last five years," Payne was quoted by La Prensa as saying.
He also claimed that this song served as closure for them, especially when Malik decided to leave them and with them finally deciding to focus on their individual careers.
Payne also explained that the song, apart from mirroring their whole adventure as a group, is also about their fans and what they have done for the boy band.
Some of the lyrics of the songs include "You and I have a lot of history, could be the biggest thing the world has ever see... This is not the end, we can do it, you know, you know."
These lyrics speak a lot of the friendship and bond the five made when they were still working together.
Despite Malik leaving the group, Hollywood Life claimed that he was in every shot of the video, reminding fans that he remains to be an important part of the group.
On the other hand, Entertainment Weekly claimed that the video was "simple but emotional."
