Wonder Woman is getting ready to rid the world of crime, and kick ass in all-new explosive footage. Warner Bros. has released an exclusive sneak peek at its upcoming movie, "Wonder Woman," where actress Gal Gadot plays the Amazonian super-heroine.

In a report with Entertainment Weekly, Gal Gadot says that she is excited to kick ass in the highly anticipated "Wonder Woman" movie. She revealed in an interview with the entertainment site that Diana Prince, the daughter of Queen Hippolyta, will be "coming of age" in the all-new movie.

The actress also revealed that the upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie will also reveal her mission on earth, and what she stands for as a super-heroine. The Amazonian warrior princess finds herself a stranger in a "man's world," but Gadot says that she will come into her own, and will come to embrace her mission.

The footage, released during the CW's "Dawn of the Justice League" special on Tuesday, showed Diana's origins and her overcoming her fears of being an alien in a foreign land. The footage also shows two key aspects of Wonder Woman's character, as a leader and a warrior. Diana is first seen as someone who is afraid and is a stranger to this time period, but eventually she emerges as the heroine that is meant to be.

Gadot is also shown fighting some unknown foes with her sword and shield, also seen in the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer. The Israeli actress is also seen riding to battle on a horse. The footage seems to be heavy on the contemporary narrative, and is seen to be masterfully shot, thanks to cinematographer Matthew Jensen.

Gadot also shows that Wonder Woman can give Batman and Superman a run for their money with her swordfighting skills.

From the looks of the footage, "Wonder Woman" is set in World War I. The footage appears to be very engaging, and it appears that director Patty Jenkins' strong vision will finally give the legendary comic book character a proper "cinematic adaptation," per Collider

Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics, said in an interview with E!Online that the film will show Diana's origins. While many fans are familiar with Batman and Superman's origins, Diana's origins seem to escape them.

The "Wonder Woman" movie also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis.

"Wonder Woman" is expected to hit theatres on June 23, 2017.
