Sorry HTC One X and One X+ owners, it looks like Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is the end of the line. HTC confirmed that the two devices will not be upgraded to Android 4.3 or higher, ending months of speculation.
HTC first dropped the bomb on Twitter.
@davidjorourke Hi. We can confirm that the One X+ will not receive further Android updates & will remain on the current version of Android.

"We can confirm that the HTC One X and One X+ will not receive further Android OS updates beyond Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5. We realize this news will be met with disappointment by some, but our customers should feel confident that we have designed both devices to be optimized with our amazing camera and audio experiences," HTC followed up in a statement to The Verge.
Website HTC Source was then able to confirm that the death sentence applied to all models of the HTC One X and One X+. This means that both Tegra 3 and Snapdragon S4 variants won't be upgraded past Android 4.2.2.
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean was pushed out to many HTC One Xs last year, but those on AT&T's network in the United States have yet to receive the update. Lucky for them, AT&T has confirmed that both the One X and One X+ will receive Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 sometime in January.
The HTC One X was HTC's 2012 flagship smartphone.
Let us know if you're a One X or One X+ owner who will purchase a new smartphone in light of the news, and which one, in the comments section below.
