Manny Pacquiao expressed his willingness to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. anytime and anywhere, but the Filipino boxing icon recently said fight fans should forget about the highly-anticipated super fight -- at least for now.

Pacquiao, who has been linked to the undefeated Mayweather in the past several years, admitted that the fight that is expected to break all boxing records might not happen at all, saying that Mayweather is not willing to square off against him.

"He really looks like he does not want to fight me, so, I think there's nothing we can do about it already," Pacquiao told reports as reported by PhilBoxing. "Let's forget about it for the meantime. For the last four years, negotiations for the fight have been on and off and nothing had come out."

Fight fans around the world have long been aching to see both fighters trade blows in the ring to end the debate about who the better fighter is.

The two camps previously engaged in several talks about a mega showdown, but all negotiations went awry due to conflicting demands from both fighters.

Aside from the fight purse split, Pacquiao cited that Mayweather has been making a lot of demands, which he thinks are getting more and more impossible. Mayweather recently said that if Pacquiao really wants to get a shot against him, the former pound-for-pound king should terminate his contract with Top Rank and Bob Arum.

"He's been asking for so many conditions which we have expressed intentions to abide by like drug testing, purse split and everything. Now he wants me to separate myself from my promoter (Bob Arum) which I cannot possibly do without violating my contract," Pacquiao said.

Mayweather insisted numerous times in the past few weeks that he is not interested in facing Pacquiao. The 36-year-old American recently took a swipe at Pacquiao, saying that the Filipino southpaw is chasing him like a mad dog chasing a bone because he knows the super fight could be his way out of his current tax woes.

"First, I would like to make it clear that I am not chasing him. If ever, I want to face him in the ring for boxing fans, in particular, and sports fans, in general," Pacquiao said. "That fight is what everybody wants. That's history in the making and I want both of us to be part of history."

Pacquiao, who is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Brandon Rios in November, will return to the ring on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The 35-year-old former eight-division champion will reportedly go up against either old tormentor Timothy Bradley, Ruslan Provodnikov or Robert Guerrero.
