A petition to convince Rockstar to bring Grand Theft Auto 5 to the PC has reached a new high.

The petition, created by fans on Change.org, has now passed 650,000 signatures, setting a new high for the petition several months after the game was originally released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While this is an impressive milestone, Rockstar has remained silent about porting the game to the PC. Grand Theft Auto 4 eventually came to the PC several months after it was originally released, so there is a definite possibility that Rockstar could announce that the hugely successful game will be coming to the PC sometime in the near future.

At the same time that PC fans of Grand Theft Auto 5 were showing their support for the game getting a port to the platform, Rockstar was busy releasing a new patch for the game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Rockstar announced the patch on the Rockstar support page, which is officially titled Patch 1.09. The focus of the new patch is solely to ensure that Grand Theft Auto Online remains fair. The patch adds anti-cheating measures to the game to make sure hackers and other similar players have a harder time manipulating the game. However, what exactly these anti-cheating measures are is unknown, which may be a good thing; that way cheaters can't know what to expect when they try to cheat in the game. The only other new content listed in Patch 1.09 is Rockstar closing exploits for Grand Theft Auto cash and Reputation Points for Grand Theft Auto Online.

It will be interesting to see if this new patch manages to fix all the exploits found in Grand Theft Auto Online and if the anti-cheating measures are enough to stop players from tainting the experience of playing the game. While the game initially faced problems through massive glitches in Grand Theft Auto Online, including losing player data and vehicles disappearing, there have been little to no reports of any rampant problems with people cheating.

Look out for more news right here on Grand Theft Auto 5 as more content is added to the game through DLC.
