William Levy was fined by Televisa after storming off set of his new telenovela "La Tempestad."

Televisa fined the Cuban actor 1.5 million Mexican pesos for leaving set while filming the series. The studio said that Levy lacked professionalism and decided the fine would have to be a considerable amount so he would never do it again.

Levy later responded to the fine and accused Televisa of having no consideration for their actors. He said that Televisa never allowed their actors time off even though they worked 15 to 20 hours a day. He added that for him family was most important and that he had not seen them in four months. Levy also stated that he had promised to spend time with them but given his busy schedule he was unable to. However he promised to bring them to the studio to see them.

This past week Levy angrily stormed off the set of "La Tempestad" because Televisa did not allow his nephew to visit the set. He later threatened to quit the soap opera causing major chaos amongst producers and writers.

Producer Salvador Mejia later forgave the Cuban actor citing fatigue and stress. The producer also admitted that many people from the production were fed up with Levy's attitude and wanted him fired. "Formula Espectacular" reported that writer Liliana Abud demanded Levy's immediate dismissal because Levy has not been respectful of her work and did not follow directions on set. Abud even requested that Argentine Sebastian Rulli replace the actor.

This is the latest scandal for the new telenovela. "La Tempestad" has hit headlines ever since it began filming. Levy was criticized for his long haircut as well as his incomprehensible Cuban accent. Producers reportedly requested that he take acting classes because he lacked chemistry with his co-star Ximena Navarrete.

The series is currently airing in Mexico and is set to premiere in the USA in July.
