Doomsday is arguably one of the most frightening figures in the DC Comics universe. When the supervillain appeared during the latest trailer of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', many fans were surprised at the early reveal of the "big bad."

In a report with The Daily Beast, director Zack Snyder defended his decision for revealing the muscled-out beast in the much talked about trailer. He said that he felt that he needed to give the audience a feel for Doomsday, and that revealing the "big bad" in the trailer would give audiences everywhere a sense of anticipation for the epic superhero showdown, slated to hit theaters this March.

The normally tight-lipped director teased that Doomsday was a villain who did not just "crawl out of the ground." He talked about a "bigger universe" in the future, and that the entire mythology will be explored there.

That bigger world, being the greater DC Comics superhero universe, of course. Warner Bros. has a lot of catching up to do, considering Marvel has already built a formidable Marvel Comics Universe. Warner Bros. is chasing the heels of both Disney and Marvel, and hopes to duplicate its success.

2013's standalone 'Superman' film, 'Man of Steel' is the studio's canonical jumping-off point for 10 more shared universe superhero films that are set to weave together.

Snyder lays down the roadmap of the future of the entire DC Comics Universe, in which he said is "constantly evolving." He added that the "rules can be the rules" and that the movies will allow for a more "coherent universe."

Snyder is to storyboard the highly anticipated 'Justice League Part One,' in which Snyder says he is flying between Los Angeles and London, where he is beginning the film's initial shooting. Snyder is also a producer of 'Wonder Woman,' currently filming under director Patty Jenkins.

The director has long been a fan of the DC Comics Universe, saying that they "transcend time" and are not "flavors of the week." He cited Superman and Batman as examples, saying that the two have a very contentious relationship, where Superman sees Batman's limits, and Batman sees Superman trying to control him like a dictator.

Comingsoon.net reports that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck will star in both films as both Superman and Batman, respectively. Gal Gadot will be playing Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

'Justice League: Part One' is set to hit theaters on Nov. 17. 2017.
