There a huge amount of exciting games coming to gamers in 2014, and during the cold early months of the year gamers may be looking for a new game to play while riding out the snow and freezing temperatures. To help out gamers stuck inside in January and February, here are the top five Xbox One and PlayStation 4 games coming out during those two months.
5. The LEGO Movie Videogame (Feb. 7) - While movie tie-in games traditionally have been mediocre at best, the LEGO Movie Videogame has the potential to be one of the best games in the early part of 2014. This game, which is also coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and handheld platforms, follows the critically acclaimed LEGO video game formula, so fans past games in the series should watch out for this new game as well.
4. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (Jan. 28) - This port of the critically acclaimed 2013 title will allow users to enjoy the game with the added bonuses that come with the next gen machines. Players will enjoy a graphical facelift that Square Enix has put a huge amount of effort into, plus all the DLC that has previously been made available for the game. Players who have yet to pick up the game should definitely grab Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition when it is released.
3. Rayman Legends (Feb. 25) - The follow up to the critically acclaimed Rayman Origins, this game will shine on the next-gen consoles. The frantic game will not only look better on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but the game will be much smoother with very small load times between levels. Those who love the first game would be remiss to miss out on Rayman Legends, and new fans looking for a solid next-gen title to pick up should definitely buy this title when it is launched.
2. Thief (Feb. 25) - Thief seeks to reboot the popular stealth franchise on the new consoles, and developer Eidos has worked hard to deliver a true next-gen experience for gamers. With a variety of ways to complete levels in a open world city full of secrets, Thief should not only please long time fans but introduce new ones to the series that helped put stealth gameplay on the map.
1. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (Feb. 18) - Garden Warfare is exclusive to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, and it could be one of the best exclusive games to come out in 2014. The game takes the Plants vs. Zombies formula and adds elements of a third-person shooter to the game, allowing users to control both sides in epic yet cartoonish battles. This game should be on every Xbox One owner's radar when it is released.
