Manny Pacquiao's dilemma keeps on getting worse.

In the midst of his tax woes both in the Philippines and the United States, a close confidante of the Filipino boxer is pointing his finger at Pacquiao's longtime adviser Michael Koncz as the one to blame for everything bad that happened in Pacman's camp for the past few months.

Atty. Frank Gacal, the Filipino boxer's legal representative, did not think twice about putting the blame on Koncz for the tax troubles Pacquiao is facing right now.

The 35-year-old Saranggani Congressman is coming off a sensational 12-round unanimous decision win over Brandon Rios Nov. 23. However, tax evasion allegations followed in rapid succession, as the Philippines' Bureau of Internal Revenue and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service asserted their claims against Pacquiao.

Gacal said Pacquiao's tax problems could have been averted if Koncz had only hired the right personnel to get the job done.

"Well, it appears there is really a problem. The IRS is claiming there is a tax deficiency. If there were some mistakes, it was Mike's fault. Why did it happen? They were supposed to have hired accountants," Gacal said.

"At the end of the year, after the filing of the tax returns, all problems should have been solved. If the US still has claims, there should be problems with recording and everything. So this is the point man's fault and that is Mike," he added.

Pacquiao's lawyer also revealed that Koncz has been keeping from him Pacman's contract with Top Rank, questioning the adviser's loyalty to the Filipino boxing icon.

"The current contract [between Top Rank and Pacquiao] was never shown to me. Mike hid it from me. He did not show the contract to me. He did not inform me. I told Mike, 'You know that it is for the best interest of Manny that no contract should be signed for the moment because apparently that is what Floyd [Mayweather] wants or his condition," Gacal said in an interview with Edwin Espejo of Rappler.com via Fight Hype.

"Mike looks up to Bob Arum when Pacquiao is done with boxing. When Pacquiao is done, who is he? So he has to maintain his good relations with Bob Arum," Gacal continued.

Pacquiao has yet to pick his next opponent for his April 12 fight date, though Ruslan Provodnikov and Timothy Bradley have emerged as the frontrunners for the bout. Then again, the blame game that is happening right now in his camp has put Pacquiao in an odd situation.

Boxing analysts advised Pacquiao to settle his problems within his camp before plunging into training for his next fight, or else he could be well on his way to an early retirement.
