There are rumors circulating on the internet that South Korean tech giant Samsung will be releasing its next generation phone as early as next month. There are already claims that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will sport a 12 MP camera and a more powerful sensor.
Samsung has been known to push the envelope when it comes to developing their smartphones and devices. This year promises to be no different. It was reported by Tech Times that Samsung hopes to dominate the smartphone market with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
A leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sufaced on Reddit on January 3. The photo showed the alleged S7 Edge variant sporting a 5.7-inch display with curved edges and 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
The leaked photo from Reddit also shows that the S7 Edge variant might be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, which incorporates Adreno 530 GPU. This information alone implies that the upcoming smartphone will be a powerhouse in your pocket.
When it comes to its camera, the Samsung S7 Edge will reportedly sport a 12-megapixel main camera as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that is ideal for selfies and video chats. The photo also suggests the phone will have 4 GB of RAM.
There were earlier rumors that the upcoming smartphone will sport a 12-megapixel shooter with a sensor that is relatively larger. This powerful sensor is reportedly larger than the Samsung Galaxy S6's camera sensor.
Should the rumors are to be believed, fans of the tech giant would certainly reap the benefit from a higher image quality, despite having a lower pixel count. This would also mean that the 12-megapixel count is definitely not a downgrade.
There are already rumors circulating on the internet that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to be released during the Mobile World Congress 2016, Android Authority reports. This will most likely get Samsung in gear as it already plans to focus more on budget smartphones throughout the course of the year.
The S6 line was highly criticized for sporting a disappointing battery that was non-removable. Fortunately, the S7 will reportedly be getting a 3000mAh non-removeable battery, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will get a 3600mAh one. These are certainly upgrades from the 2550mAh and 2600mAh, the predecessors. Wireless charging time on both devices will most likey be in the estimate of 2 hours.
However, Samsung has made no official statement on when it intends to release its new line of flagship devices.
