Selena Gomez starts off the New Year by showing off her rocking bikini body as she posed with her friends for her first ever Instagram photo of 2016. The pop star beamed and strutted her stuff as she struck a pose with her four girlfriends.

The Latina beauty shared the photo with a message of gratitude to everyone that made her 2015 as breath-taking as it was, and to fans that showed her love and support every day of the year.

"Left my phone behind to be present!" Gomez wrote. "I am so grateful for the people I've met this year but more importantly for the people who have been consistent and by my side through thick and thin. That'd be YOU. Thank you for another year! Love you guys!" she added.

Latina.com points out that the "Same Old Love" singer dealt with body-shaming last year after haters flocked to her Instagram and accused her of gaining weight. The aforementioned publication reports that it was the first time Gomez encountered such an issue.

But it does not look like she is one to be bothered. Back when she was just preparing for the release of her latest album "Revival," she admitted to E! Online that she did gain weight, but "didn't really mind it." While this is the first time she was ever fat-shamed, Gomez tackled the issue head on with class.

"I'm not going to let them get to me. I can do what I want. I'm not doing that all the time. It's beautiful. It represents that it's bare. I don't want diamonds and things all over me for the cover, and really thick makeup. I wanted it natural, so...geez!" the former Disney star stated.

Gomez had a pretty great 2015. She performed in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015 with Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd. When it was first released, "Revival," which is the singer's second solo studio album, debuted on the number one spot of the US Billboard 200.

In May this year, Gomez will kick-start her Revival World Tour. "I will be going through the US and Canada from May to July and then later in the year going overseas," she announced in October last year as quoted by Celebmix.com.
