February is the month that fans of "The Walking Dead" are waiting for, as this month will be the mid-season premiere of the zombie apocalypse TV series. And on Dec. 30, the American horror drama dropped its new trailer to tease its every viewer with the addition of a new character.
In the 30-seconder clip, AMC gave a glimpse of Rick (Andrew Lincoln), his son Carl, (Chandler Riggs) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), according to Us Weekly. "I thought living behind these walls ... was possible," the voice of lead protagonist was heard saying in the background, as Carl and Michonne were surrounded by zombies.
The video also debuts the appearance of the much-awaited antagonist Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Everyone is now waiting for the confrontation between Negan and the very-loved pizza delivery guy, Glenn (Steven Yeun), who has been said to die in the arms of the new character.
Furthermore, Inquisitr added that the leader of 'Saviors' from the comic book series is one of the most iconic characters, who will be hated and feared for his role. Fans are now wondering if Negan will continue to have the hype that he gets before he even appears, and not the villain everyone will hate.
The showrunner Scott M. Gimple said a firm no to the new anticipation of their supporters. "[Negan] just kills, and it doesn't bother him. He's the star of his own movie and we're all Red Shirts," he told TVLine.
Some even compared him to the badass Governor, who was once loved and hated by "TWD" enthusiasts.
"In my opinion, The Governor is more despicable and damaged. Negan is terrifying in that he isn't a psychopath. He's charismatic and funny. And even sort of friendly... He's not nuts. But you can't reason with him because he's got it all worked out... Negan also has a bizarre sense of empathy. He actually recognizes your bad luck in you running into him, yet it doesn't change a damn thing," Gimple explained.
On the arrival of Negan, Inquisitr noted that many are now afraid that the fan-favorite role of Glenn is about to face his death. And, as many times that Glenn had escaped his demise -- from a bunch of walkers to some antagonists, and his recent fall in the heard of zombies that puzzled the minds of the many -- it looks like they are now preparing him to face Negan.
