Virtual Reality is expected to increase this year, especially in the gaming industry.
Previous devices have already been made to introduce the technology, but Choice noted that the ideal point for VR devices could be this year.
So what are the top VR headsets that the public can expect in 2016? Below are some examples:
1. Oculus Rift
Expected to come out early this year, this VR headset will reportedly introduce the "head-mounted display's" consumer version to the US market for the first time, giving the public the chance to personally experience the technology, as per VRFocus.
The consumer version features two images projected onto the lenses that creates a "stereoscopic 3D image world" for the users.
Also known as the CV1, the VR device also reportedly includes a "wireless motion controller, Oculus Touch, and the Xbox One controller."
This next phase of gaming will not come cheap, as Destructoid noted that the "Rift" is expected to cost around $300.
Last August, the consumer version of the Oculus Rift debuted during the PAX Prime in Seattle.
2. PlayStation VR
DualShockers said the headset has announced a release window in the first half of 2016 and could come after the Consumer Electronics Show 2016, which is set on January 6 in Las Vegas.
It was added in an Alphr report that the device will be powered by the PlayStation 4 and could cost around $500.
According to TechTimes, the PlayStation VR will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz and will sport a 5.7-inch display.
"Games for PlayStation VR can be rendered at 120fps. When combined with the OLED display's high refresh rate and the power of PS4, it means PS VR outputs amazingly smooth visuals," said Sony on its website.
3. HTC Vive
It was also noted in the TechTimes report that the upcoming HTC Vive headset will have a screen for each eye, with a resolution of 1080 x 1200.
The company is expected to give a demonstration of the device at the International CES this month, with its developer version to be released in February.
Developments in the these two existing devices are also expected:
4. Samsung Gear VR
Made available in November last year, this device was highly praised for its features and affordable price of $99.
Its official website revealed that the headset provides a super precise view of a virtual world through its Super AMOLED display. It also works will all Galaxy smartphones for better user experience.
5. Google Cardboard
According to Google, this headset is an easy to build and buy gadget, which will provide a simple viewer a quality VR experience.
"Once you have it, you can explore a variety of apps that unfold all around you," the company added.
