A selfie application for iPhone users has been developed and recently introduced by Microsoft to give people ideal selfies.
According to USA Today, the app is dubbed Microsoft Selfie and this has been made available for free download on Wednesday on the App Store.
It also noted that the newly introduced application will enable users to edit and enhance their self-portraits to create better images.
On its app page, Microsoft noted that the application has all the editing technology that one needs for his or her pictures.
"The app takes age, gender, skin tone, lighting, and many other variables into account, applies different models automatically and finishes enhancement with just a single click," reads the app description.
The application also promises to transform average photos into a more presentable one in just a few seconds and by making two or three keypad presses. Some of the key features of the Microsoft Selfie are color theme, automatic exposure, intelligent enhancement and noise reduction.
It can be downloaded by iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users but they need to have an iOS 8.0 or later.
The Verge noted that this new selfie app is "a more subtle version" of the Lumia Selfie, which was the first self-portrait application introduced by Microsoft for Windows phones.
It added that the Microsoft Selfie is equipped with 13 filter options which give phone users the chance to minimize noise in their photos and make other needed improvements.
"[It can] add a distinct flavor to the photo in line with names like '1965' and 'BlueDawn.' You can also press and hold on the "compare" button to see your lesser, non-algorithmically enhanced self," added the same report.
On the other hand, TechTimes claimed that the number of app downloads will tell if people would really spend time to enhance their selfies since it will be just as easy as a single click.
A first-hand experience of the app revealed that one can just snap a photo or get from an album to edit on the mobile editor. Then filters like boost, wonka, tender, cool, blue dawn, crossify and mayor could already be applied on your selfie.
Business Insider's Matt Weinberger, in his review of the app, said that it automatically applied an enhancement to his selfie when he opened the photo on the application.
He added that the Microsoft Selfie could be using the same technology as the Project Oxford machine of Microsoft which analyses various images in popular websites like age recognition.
