Actor Mark Salling, known as Noah "Puck" Puckerman from "Glee," was arrested last Tuesday for possession of child pornography, as stated by Los Angeles Police Department officer Liliana Preciado. The Daily Mail also mentioned that police officers found more than a thousand indecent child exploitation images on the actor's computer, which they searched after the LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant in his home. The outlet noted that possession of over 600 images can land him up to five years in prison.
The 33-year-old actor was arrested in a Los Angeles neighborhood, just north of Burbank in Sunland, California. His bail was set for $20,000, which the actor posted. He then left the LA jail just after 2:30PM on Tuesday. His court date is set for January 22, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter. Information regarding his arrest is not immediately available, and neither the actor nor his reps are available for comment.
Salling played the role of Puck for all of Glee's six seasons, which ran from 2009 to 2015. His character was a bully football player who initially resisted the glee club, later on becoming a member, before joining the Air Force in the later seasons. The Hollywood Reporter also added that the actor admitted in the March 2015 PaleyFest festival that he lied about his age during his audition for the musical tv show in order to land the part.
Also said to be a versatile musician, CNN noted that Salling had been filming "Adi Shankar's Gods and Secrets" with Denise Richards, and fellow "Glee" alumni Josh Sussman and Max Adler. He was also putting together his own TV series, which he described as "a musical with original music." He also said, "we had to record a whole 13-song record for that and write the episodes around the songs."
His busy schedule aside, Salling previously had sexual battery allegations filed against him. His ex-girlfriend sued him for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence in January 2013. She also said that he forced her to have unprotected sex with him in March 2011.
People was able to obtain legal papers from the sexual battery allegation, and according to them, Gorzela came to find him in bed with another woman, and when they got into an argument, she hit her head when he pushed her to the ground. Gorzela dropped the sexual battery charge in March this year, and Salling agreed to pay her $2.7 million.
