Microsoft has announced that four games will be available for free in 2016.

The free offering is part of the ongoing Games with Gold program. It is expected that a new list of games will roll out in 2016, but prior to that free titles will come free of charge on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

As provided by Xbox Wire, here are the four games available for free. Note that the no-charge offering for these titles will only be for a limited time only.

•  "Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition" ($39.99 ERP): Available from January 1-31 on Xbox One
•  "Zheros" ($TK ERP): Available from January 16-February 15 on Xbox One
•  "DiRT Showdown" ($14.99 ERP): Available from January 1-15 on Xbox 360
•  "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" ($14.99 ERP): Available from January 16-31 on Xbox 360

"Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition," which was developed by Double Helix Games, Iron Galaxy Studios, Rare, and Microsoft Studios, is a fighting game that highlights combos, flash, and fun, instead of reflexes and timing, Xbox Wire wrote. The game originally comes with just one playable character unlocked, but the Ultra Edition was made possible by the Games with Gold program. This way, instant access to all eight Season One characters is granted, as well as 16 additional character accessory packs, eight additional costumes, and a playable version of "Killer Instinct Classic" from 1994.

Rimlight Studios' "Zheros" is a 3D action game set in an alternative futuristic universe. The game features "engaging combat, expanded arsenal of moves and weapons, dazzling graphics and outrageous characters," the developer's official site wrote. By joining the Zheros squad with Mike and Dory, you will battle against the evil force of Dr. Vendetta as he plans to mutate living creatures and transform them into his cruel minions.

Codemasters' 2012 offering, "DiRT Showdown" transports you in a world filled with rally cars and trucks, as well as racing, demolition, and party events, according to Xbox Wire. Prize money can be obtained from winning events, which leads to unlocking higher difficulty levels, more events, and harder challenges.

"Deus Ex: Human Revolution" is a first-person action role-playing stealth video game with a cyberpunk theme, Xbox Wire wrote. You play as Adam Jensen, a security expert who gets involved in an explosion that made all of his limbs and majority of his organs replaced with cybernetic parts -- against his will. The procedure granted him super strength, but he struggles with his connection to humans while trying to know the whole truth behind the explosion that altered his life.
