The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S7 could be unveiled during a big company event in February, reports reveal.
Sam Mobile dished that the Samsung Unpacked 2016 may take place on February 20 in Barcelona, as per Ukranian tech blogger Ivan Luchkov, who was able to reveal the correct date of the same event in 2014.
The same report explained that during this annual event of Samsung, the company can finally reveal its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, both expected to have an iris scanner.
In a similar report, South Korea's Electronic Times said that Samsung could release two Galaxy S7 sizes -- 5.2-inch regular display and 5.5-inch curved display.
This is said to be the response of Samsung to the phablets released by Apple, like the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6s Plus.
Electronic Times explained that the Galaxy S7 is currently being developed with the project name "HERO," and will be mass produced this coming February. But it claimed that there is a "HERO1" and a "HERO2" project, which refer to the two sizes of the upcoming device.
Ars Technica noted that the 5.2-inch device could be called the Samsung Galaxy S7, while the bigger one could be tagged either as the "Galaxy S7 Edge+," or the "Galaxy S7 Edge."
A Weibo account earlier revealed that for the development of the Samsung Galaxy S7, the Korean phone manufacturer has reportedly tapped Synaptics to utilize their ClearForce technology for it to be able to respond to different screen pressure.
ClearForce technology, as per TechRadar, allows various "scrolling speeds, ways to unlock, gaming controls and much more depending on what pressure is applied."
It was added by CNet that this feature is much like the 3D Touch technology on the recent iPhone 6s instalment.
According to TechTimes, the Samsung Galaxy S7 may also be equipped with a 4GB RAM, and will be powered by a 64-bit Exynos 3.5 GHz processor. For storage, the device could come with 32, 64 and 128 GB variants.
The device is also expected to use Britecell camera technology, which was recently announced by Samsung, as per Gearburn. This new technology is said to improve photos even in low light, and also produces pictures with better colors.
It was also noted that the company plans to change green pixels in the sensors to white units for better picture quality.
The new Galaxy S7 will also reportedly feature an "infrared sensor" that can accurately measure the body temperatures of its users.
