Recently leaked photos of the Google Glass 2.0 revealed that the upcoming device is similar to its predecessor, but could come with a bigger prism display.
A Federal Communications Commission document gave the public a taste of what they can expect with the Google Glass 2, noting that it has a great resemblance to the old Google Glass, which was released to the public in 2013.
The new wearable device, which looks like eyeglass frames with a screen in front of your eyes, is expected to have a larger prism for a better view, a stronger design, and will be powered by an Intel Atom processor, the Wall Street Journal reported.
On the other hand, Gadgets NDTV claimed that some notable differences were also seen from the images including the position of the power button which can now be seen at the back of the Google Glass.
It added that the FCC filing also included a user manual, which revealed that the plastic cube above the eye of the users allows them "to interact with the device."
"The Home Screen is your starting point. By default, the display shows you the current time," the manual read.
It added that the camera button of the device can be found on the top, near the display. Users were instructed to press this button to snap photos and hold it down to record videos. A green light in front of the device is a signal that the camera is on.
According to PC World, the new device will also support a 5GHz Wi-Fi, as earlier rumored.
The same report also claimed that the look of the device on the FCC listing could still differ on the final product, as "the government is only interested in radio frequencies, not aesthetics."
In July this year, Daily Mail said the anticipated Google Glass 2.0 will be waterproof, more durable and foldable.
The same report also said that the new addition for Google will not bear the name Google Glass 2.0, but will be tagged as the "Enterprise Edition."
9t05google explained that users can expect some noticeable differences, like a "more rugged build and appearance."
Daily Mail also noted that the head-mounted technology is now better to use underwater, since there is less chance for the water to enter the inside of the device.
Along with this upgrade, the upcoming Google Glass will also look and feel "practical and industrial," according to 9t05google.
It is also believed to feature a moderately improved battery life and better heat management.
