In the emergence of video calling and video messaging in smartphones today, WhatsApp has a new feature to offer. The instant messaging's update will now allow its users to send a video message to those they are talking to, enabling video chat.

According to MSN, the latest update will now put stress on the major messaging systems, like Apple (FaceTime), Google (Hangouts), Microsoft (Skype) and other known phone carriers. The German site, MacerKopf, unveiled leaked photos of the upcoming new service, which showed a trial of the video calling.

The snaps featured an ongoing video chat that displayed the "bare bones" service. However, WhatsApp has been known for its simple style, showing that the bare bones feature is not a problem.

In fact, it has already gathered 900 million users in just six years. The site also added that the company, founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, is working on a new tabbed interface, in addition to the video messaging system.

It is now being tested in "the second notable shakeup" of WhatsApp's UI in 2014. It didn't, however, manage to create screenshots for fans to be able to see the upcoming design, but it has been said that it will be mostly covered in a green color.

The new addition could add another impressive period for the development of the application. It will now feature an integrated design with a new look, as well as desktop access and new voice and video calling.

The creators of WhatsApp have been wise enough to differentiate the fame of its messenger app and the social media giant, Facebook, with the two applications dominating the social world. In truth, when the two apps are combined, they have a whopping 2 BN total users (admittedly with substantial overlap), which is evidently hard to rival.

Meanwhile, MacerKopt added that WhatsApp video chat will soon to be released in January 2016. The official and current version of the application in the iOS App Store has the model number 2:12:12.

They are now working hard to finish the 2.12.16.2 soon, which is now being tested internally by the developers and beta testers. When they succeed in the new version, it will then be implemented, coming our way with some few final revisions.

The desktop edition, on the other hand, will work on browsers like Safari, Chrome and other portals. This, too, can run in multiple tabs next to each other to quickly navigate from one messaging to another.
