Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" depicted a different side of Bruce Banner's alter-ego, the Incredible Hulk. Those who have seen the film will remember how Banner was seemingly getting a grip on his monstrous side to the point that the green giant could be called upon at will, rather than emerging whenever he could no longer control his rage.

Mark Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk will next be seen in "Thor 3: Ragnarok," the third installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise that launched Chris Hemsworth to stardom. In a recent interview with Ain't It Cool News, Ruffalo talked about how the events in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will have serious repercussions in Banner/Hulk's representation in the third "Thor" film.

"He's on the run. I think that we carry that through. It's not just a matter of taking himself to some remote place and hiding. Now he's removing himself from humanity altogether. I'm not sure where we're going to head with that, but I'm sure that's probably still very much alive within him," the 48-year-old actor told Ain't It Cool News.

He continued, "It's very subtle, but the Banner/Hulk consciousness is beginning to meld a little bit. Who decided to leave? Was it Banner or Hulk? It's not really in the cinematic mythology of Hulk up until that moment to be that conscious and pro-active."

Ruffalo admitted that the comic books have somewhat addressed the two personalities joining, but assured that they are "moving away from the traditional Hulk/Banner relationship," and have started to "mess with it a little bit," Ain't It Cool News noted.

Speaking to NY Daily News in October, Ruffalo said that the film will be a "buddy picture" with Thor and Banner, but they will still "probably fight." There was a fight scene between the two superheroes in 2012's "The Avengers" as well.

The third "Thor" installment will open on the Thunder God's return to Asgard, where the trickster Loki is currently sitting on the throne in impersonation of his father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Screen Rant wrote. As per speculations, Thor's homeland is in under threat and given the doomsday implications of the film's title, there is no doubt that he will need the Hulk along for the fight to peace.

"Thor: Ragnarok" bows in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017. Tom Hiddleston and Jamie Alexander are reprising their roles as Loki and Lady Sif, respectively. The movie will be directed by Taika Waititi from a script penned by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, with a recent revision by Stephany Folsom, according to a separate report from Screen Rant.
