A CEO of the application D'Marie Archive, Frank Spadafora, revealed that top models nowadays, like Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid are also earning on their Instagram posts. A brand will pay the model to wear, or mention, a certain product on their social media pages, which can earn the models a whopping six figures.
It has been known that using computer-mediated tools is a very bankable trade, especially for models and celebrities. They are, of course, sharing their look or style with their audience, but they are also endorsing those labels at the same time, by taking pictures and posting them online, according to Look.
The app founder unveiled that the models earned £200,000 to $300,000 for every post on the photo-sharing website. "The three most highly ranked superstars on social media -- Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevigne and Gigi Hadid, in descending order -- are currently valued between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post across their portfolio," Spadafora told CR Fashion Book.
Next in line are the Victoria's Secret Angels, Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloon and former Angel, Miranda Kerr. They, too, can also gross between $25,000 to $50,000 for a single photo shared on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
However, not everything they post is paid, but it has been said that with just one uploaded snap, they can cover their salary for a day. In fact, Harper's Bazaar reported that it can even surpass what the models earn on the runway or in any campaign they advertise.
Having a big number of social media supporters is necessary to be a social media endorser. However, even those who just have tens of millions of followers can still earn a huge amount of money by sharing sponsored posts.
"For sure, casting directors will ask for models with over 'X' amount of followers, and then will ask for the specs of the talent after that," Jennifer Powell of Next Models told CR Fashion Book. But, the publication cited that the models have to be active on social media, as well as cooperative with fans to be chosen.
"We are still in the process of educating our clients to increase their social media rate, but some of our models listed on D'Marie actually have the potential to earn more per post than their normal day rate. The social queens are just another breed of models," Katia Sherman, president & co-founder of Major models, said, as written by Cr Fashion Book.
