To celebrate the 15th birthday of his poodle, Arizona resident, Mike Chesworth, threw a quinceañera complete with a red carpet.

In a Facebook video, Chesworth was seen holding his dog, "Angel," prior to the party where all of his neighbors were in attendance. They were all informed that it was a "dog party."

When the dog owner came out to face his guests, he told them that when Angel was three, he promised her that he would throw the coming-of-age party for her.

As a mariachi band sang "Happy Birthday" for Angel, she was also treated to a cake in a shape of a bone.

The guests, as seen from the video, seemed to have fun playing around, drinking, and bonding with their pets during the celebration.

According to Huffington Post, though the poodle could not understand the human tradition, she looked happy and amused to be treated to a cake and dressed in a cute pink outfit.

"The video of the party is packed like a piñata with all kinds of visual goodies and it's totally worth a view," added the same report.

Neatorama added that the event was also a way to celebrate "a milestone" in Angel's life, since she was able to reach the old dog age of 15.

After posting it on Facebook, the video of Angel's quinceañera has been viewed more than 1,300 times and shared more than 20 times.

"(Doggie Birthday Party) Feliz Cumpleaños, Science says we love our dogs like children... some kids are really LUCKY!!!" posted Chesworth along with the Facebook video.

As per Learn NC, a quinceañera party is a very important celebration for Mexicans. Quinceanera means the girl who turns fifteen.

"This constitutes a ceremony on a girl's fifteenth birthday to mark her passage to womanhood, to give thanks to God for his blessings, and to present a young woman to the community," the same report explained.

In addition, Quinceanera Boutique noted that part of the tradition is for the quinceanera to choose among her friends, who will be part of the Court of Honor.

It was also noted that this group is usually composed of her closest friends, siblings, cousins and special people in her life.

Aside from Mexico, this life event is also celebrated in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central and South America and can also be referred to as Quince (XV) Años, a quinces, a Quinceanera, a Quinceanero or a Fiesta Rosa, according to Quinceanera Boutique.

It is also common that the celebration begins with a celebration ceremony, which is then followed by a reception.
