Could Google be working on another Android 4.4.2 KitKat update? A recent sighting in the wild shows a Google Nexus 5 running a never-before-seen Android 4.4.2 build, leading many to believe that this is the Android 4.4.2 fix Nexus users have been waiting for.

The keen eyes over at Myce have spotted a Google Nexus 5 handset running Android 4.4.2 KitKat build KJT49K. The latest version of KitKat running on all Nexus devices, including the Nexus 5, is KOT49H. As Myce points out, the build version is supposed to contain information about the date and point of origin of the build, but that it isn't always concrete. If build KJT49K follows Google's naming rules, this means that the build was started back in November 2013.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat build KOT49H released back in December 2013 for Nexus devices, and it wasn't too long before many users began complaining of a number of issues. Google still hasn't addressed them, and it could be that KJT49K is a fix. While many frustrated users have been clamoring for an Android 4.4.3 update to fix the problems, it does make sense Google would simply keep the version at Android 4.4.2. After all, Android 4.4.2 is expected to land on a number of devices, such as the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 within a month or two, and it would be a shame if Android 4.4.3 released before those users were treated to KitKat.

Still, bear in mind that Google has confirmed nothing, and this just may be a rogue sighting.
