New "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" photos hint at Billie Lourd's character in Episode 7, showing an impeccable resemblance to her mother, Carrie Fisher, when she was portraying Princess Leia Organa.

According to Screen Rant, Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy, had confirmed that the new Star Wars film would be pursuing the story of the Skywalker family saga.

This gave birth to speculations that Billie Lourd, an American actress and the 23-year-old daughter of Carrie Fisher, would be acting as the daughter of her mother's character.

However, People reported Wednesday that Lourd denied any chance that she would be playing Princess Leia's daughter in Episode 7.

Now, photos of her show and emphasize her very close resemblance to her mother, matched with a similar hair style like that of the original Star Wars character in the 1977 flick, "Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope."

In an interview featured in the special Star Wars collectors' edition of the magazine, she also told People how she had been a long-time fan of the intergalactic saga and even challenged her mother in a lightsaber duel.

"I made [my mom] watch it at least once a week -- and on special occasions I would make her get in a lightsaber fight with me. Let's just say the more trained Jedi usually won," she explained.

Screen Rant cited some speculations on which character Lourd would be appearing as, including a possible "easter egg" for the upcoming film.

"[Billie Lourd has] been rumored in the past to play anything from Leia's daughter to a younger version of Leia herself in a flashback sequence in the film, it seems Lourd's role will likely amount to more of an easter egg for Star Wars fans," the report read.

Official word on her character is nowhere to be found, which means fans and media outlets are left to speculate on what to make of the images here and here.

Screen Rant believes that Lourd's involvement in the franchise adds to its appeal to a wider range of audience and intensifies the excitement for its release.

"The multi-generational appeal of the Star Wars franchise (which Lourd's quote calls further attention to) has very much contributed to the daunting levels of hype that are currently surrounding 'The Force Awakens' theatrical release," the report reads.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set for theatrical release in the U.S. on December 18, 2015.
