Sony Pictures executives screened "Captain America: Civil War" for the approval process of Marvel's usage of their copyrighted character, Spider-Man.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Sony wants to see if the movie portrayed the web-slinging character to their liking, something the outlet found funny since Marvel "has a winning formula" and knows what they are doing with their movies.

"I find it quite HILARIOUS, when according to sources, executives from Sony have to screen 'Captain America: Civil War' so they can 'give their notes' and 'sign off' on the portrayal of Spider-Man in the movie. Seriously?" Heroic Hollywood's, Umberto Gonzalez, wrote.

He further noted that Sony does not seem to realize how "incredibly lucky they are" in the situation, adding that Spider-Man is "in good hands."

"Instead of giving notes, they should send Feige a holiday fruit basket and be THANKFUL that they're even allowed into the editing bay. Technically, Spider-Man belongs to Sony and they are within their right, but still, take a backseat and let the professionals handle it," Gonzalez wrote.

Before the Marvel-Sony agreement, the production company responsible for the success of "After Earth" and "Pixels," possesses the rights to create a Spider-Man movie.

When the agreement that friendly neighborhood superhero would be included in the rapidly expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe had been signed, the rumor mill started churning as to when Peter Parker's alter ego would be appearing in a Marvel film.

Now, the facts are in and Spidey, portrayed by Tom Holland, would be joining the bout between Chris Evans,' "Captain America," and Robert Downey Jr.'s, "Iron Man."

Holland is set to show his version of the wall-crawler in a solo film in November 2017, but he will be debuting in the upcoming third standalone movie of the "Captain America" franchise this coming May 2016.

And, with much at stake, Sony is maintaining a critical eye at how their beloved Spider-Man will be portrayed by Marvel, and one of the most important factors they are looking at is his suit.

Inquisitr cited a report from Entertainment Weekly claiming that the movie would be featuring the hero's classic blue-and-white outfit he is most famous for.

According to a statement from Anthony Russo of the Russo Brothers in EW, Spidey and other characters in the movie would be undergoing a "very experimental process" in choosing their look.

And then, there is the report from Game Spot claiming that Spider-Man, portrayed to be at his teens, would also be sporting the red-and-gold Iron Spider outfit designed by Tony Stark.

Either way, there is still so much we can hope for until the final cut is done and the movie is released.
