The rumored 2014 Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone could not only sport a new outer look, but also feature a new interface for users to interact with as well, according to a new leak from notorious tipster @evleaks.
The leak came early Tuesday morning, when @evleaks, well known for his leaks concerning smartphones, revealed that Samsung is apparently busy testing a new user interface.

Samsung, naturally, has not commented on the matter, and as SamMobile points out, the pictures showcasing the supposed-new interface aren't the most flattering, so take it all in with a grain of salt. Still, Samsung's current user interface, TouchWiz, has been around since 2010, and most users will admit that the formula is getting a little stale. The changes shown in th leaked images don't seem to be drastic, but they do add a certain flair to the look that was lacking before. It's also unclear if the new interface would keep the TouchWiz moniker.
If the leak is indeed indicative of a new interface for the Samsung Galaxy S5, then the next-gen Galaxy S handset will be one of the largest overhauls to the Galaxy S lineup to date. Samsung is also reportedly interested in building the Galaxy S5 out of a new material in order to stem much of the backlash it received for the Galaxy S4's plastic, cheap-feeling casing. Rumor has it that Samsung will release the Galaxy S5 in two models: a premium variant with a metal casing, and a cheaper normal version with some kind of polycarbonate shell.
Other rumored specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5 include a 5.25-inch 2K HD display with a 2560X1440 resolution, a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor or a 64-bit Exynos processor depending on the region, 3GB or 4GB RAM, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box.
Samsung is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona late February.
