Julia and Joel's marriage will continue to unravel in an all-new episode of the "Parenthood" this Thursday, Jan. 9 on NBC.

In last week's episode, Julian opened up to her big brother Adam about her disintegrating marriage, confessing that Ed kissed her. In a heartwarming and tender scene, Adam remained supportive of his sister and encouraged her to seek counseling. He also warned their brother Crosby to keep an eye out on Julian and Ed at a school auction, notes BuddyTv.com.

Later on at the auction, Ed is drunk and makes a big spectacle when he tries talking to Julia. That's when Joel steps in and ends up pushing Ed to the ground and warning him to stay away from his wife.

After the auction Joel confronts Julia wanting to know if there's anything going on between her and Ed. However, instead of admitting the truth about the kiss, Julia lies and pretends that there's nothing happened with them. Joel doesn't believe her and needs some time to think, leaving viewers to wonder if their rocky marriage is heading towards divorce.

In the upcoming episode, which is titled "Stay A Little Longer," Julia will decide to fess up about her inappropriate relationship with Ed. However, as seen in a promo video, Joel doesn't take the confession lightly.

Also in the episode, a synopsis on TV Guide reveals that "Hank has questions after Sarah gets good news about a job; Jasmine is upset when Crosby invites Oliver to live with him while the band is experiencing problems; Joel and Peet try to finish their project; and Amber deals with a harsh truth."

"Parenthood" resumes its current fifth season on Thursday, Jan. 9 with the airing of "Stay A Little Longer" on NBC.
