There are swirling rumors that Microsoft is about to release its latest flagship killer, Surface Phone, next year. Enthusiasts of Microsoft-powered devices are looking forward to getting their hands on the handheld gadget, that also has the ability to read PC specs.

According to Win Beta, ever since Surface and Surface Pro devices were presented in 2012, Windows phone users have been waiting for the release of a phone that has Microsoft software and a "laterally-integrated hardware approach."

They are looking forward to a Microsoft version of Apple's "one phone, one tablet, one PC" unit that Microsoft consumers believe can be made by the tech giant. However, in spite of the failure of Microsoft's first Surface attempt, many are still waiting for the Surface photo to be created.

Evidently, the success of Microsoft's Surface line emerges nowadays and still continues, which is why many are opting to have a Surface phone -- for its promising abilities. However, sources told Windows Central that while the Surface phone is now in the works, fans of the Windows phone will still have to wait a little longer. The device also might end up quite differently from what everyone is expecting.

"Sources familiar with Microsoft's plans have revealed that the rumored Intel-powered Windows 10 phone slated for May 2016 has been canceled. Instead, an all-new flagship phone lead by Panos Panay and the team of engineers that build the Microsoft Surface, and Surface Book has been given the green light. Slated for a release in the second half of 2016, this may be the long-wised-for Surface phone," as noted by Win Beta.

Moreover, Yibada added that Panos Panay, who was behind the works of Surface and Surface Book, is now leading the creation of a handheld device that can work with both Microsoft's tablet and laptop. However, he is still in the stages of planning the phone's "design, hardware, and features."

But, it was reported that everything will be completed in the middle of 2016. Meanwhile, since the Surface line has been known for its "power," Microsoft is boasting that their upcoming Surface phone will be "the most powerful phone ever."

However, there is very limited information about its specs, as they haven't finalized its features and haven't disclosed its price range yet either. Rumor has it, though, that the Surface phone will have 5.5-inch screen display and 4GB RAM.

There is also hearsay that Microsoft will collaborate with Intel to make its phone run with Win32 apps via the "refined Continuum experience," just like 950 and 950XL application. It may also be built with metal chassis, possibly it will just have the common mobile phone look -- or, a combination of both.
