It seems that HBO is giving fans even more reason to have holiday cheer, because just as soon as the Jon Snow poster was released, the network followed it up with a teaser, and now, a few snippets of footage.
Oh, in case you don't already know, we're talking about "Game of Thrones."
To be clear, the said footage is part of a longer HBO clip about how 2015 has been a magical year, and a sneak into what's coming next. But the few seconds of "Game of Thrones" is enough to make fans happy, especially considering that the teaser was more of a recap of all the horrors from the past five seasons.
Philly.com noted that the 2016 preview promo was said to have been released on Sunday night and features some blink-and-you'll-miss-it scenes from the epic fantasy series: Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen looking a bit less put-together than usual, Iwan Rheon as Ramsay Bolton seemingly on the trail of Theon and Sansa, and Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, looking more like a gentle mother than a vindictive queen regent.
The entire HBO video is about three minutes long, but if you're eager for the new "Game of Thrones" scenes, skip ahead to around the 1:50 mark to get a look at the new clips.
Meanwhile, there is more "Game of Thrones" news for fans, although this particular piece of information will cover the unanswered questions from the past five seasons. A new book called "Game of Thrones: The Noble Houses of Westeros" will be helpful for fans who want to brush up on their knowledge of the series. The Hollywood Reporter also added that it provides insight to the top twists from the show, as well.
Among the revelations include the horrors of House Stark, the fate of Jon Snow, the death of Stannis Baratheon, the Freys, and information abut Westeros, beyond all the blood and gore.
While the new book and clips may be enough to satiate fans for now, they are definitely still hoping that the next season will premiere soon. There is no specific date yet as to when season six will air, although the teasers did note that it will be sometime in April. Not that "Game of Thrones" is all there is to look forward to from HBO.
The network's sneak peek video also included clips showing Sarah Jessica Parker in "Divorce," Bryan Cranston in "All the Way," Kerry Washington in "Confirmation," and even Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden in the re-imagining of "Westworld."
