Manny Pacquiao has yet to name his opponent but Fighthype reported that the former pound-for-pound king has decided to face Timothy Bradley in his next fight on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum, who recently met with Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz, previously said that the Filipino boxing icon will face Bradley or Ruslan Provodnikov.

However, sources confirmed that Pacquiao and his camp already selected the undefeated Bradley for his next fight, knowing that it is easier to sell the showdown since the two fighters have unsettled business against each other.

"They're going with Tim," said the Fighthype source with direct knowledge of the negotiations.

The source pointed out that Pacquiao's camp knows that a fight against Bradley and Provodnikov will not generate huge pay-per-view numbers for them, compared to a showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr. or a fifth collision with Juan Manuel Marquez.

This leaves them with no other option but to go with Bradley, who previously scored a controversial victory over Pacquiao in their WBO welterweight title showdown in June 2012.

"Neither guy [Bradley or Provodnikov] are a big draw, but with Bradley, they can at least hang their hat on the fact that there's history between the two fighters. The controversy of their first fight makes it a lot easier to sell than a fight with the Russian kid," the source said.

Marquez, who knocked Pacquiao out cold in their fourth showdown in December 2012, is reportedly the original choice of the former eight-division champion, but the 40-year-old Mexican is "acting like a diva", turning down a potential PPV blockbuster fifth showdown in April.

"He doesn't want to give Pacquiao a chance to avenge the KO and he's demanding that he be given the rematch with Tim, even though he acted like a sore loser after their fight. He's acting like a diva, and nobody wants to deal with that," said the source, who also added that a knockout win against Bradley will likely put Pacquiao in a better position to face Mayweather later this year or in 2015.

With the Pacquiao-Bradley rematch, Marquez will have to settle for a comeback fight against WBO light welterweight champion Provodnikov, who previously expressed strong interest in facing the Mexican for his first title defense.
