Report assures Steve Rogers' fans that he will survive the battle against Team Iron Man despite the odds in the upcoming 2016 flick, "Captain America: Civil War."
According to Collider, Chris Evans' future in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe has been "murky" considering his statement published in Glamour UK about how he wanted to "take a break from acting" after he is done with all of his Marvel films.
"With acting, you're one piece in a very big puzzle. It's like you helped buy a gift but you don't know what the gift is, so you come back and see the movie. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's tragic," he told the magazine.
Aside from this, a couple of people cited by Collider believe that the actor may actually take that "break" a wee bit early by bailing on the rest of his contract.
Of course, the outlet has yet to confirm this, and, during an interview in back in 2014, Collider was able to get the truth from the "Captain America" star himself.
"I have a six-movie contract with Marvel and I absolutely plan on fulfilling them. I may stick with my Marvel universe in terms of getting in front of the camera, and then getting behind the camera outside of it," the actor revealed to the outlet, referring to his new found career in directing.
And there is also the fact that in the comics, Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, dies during the civil war and is replaced by Falcon in the blue-red-white striped suit.
Based on Inquisitr's count, the actor has already finished more than half of the number of his Marvel movies: two "Captain America" solos and two "Avengers" movies.
This means that "Civil War" would be his fifth film in the entire MCU, not counting his cameo in "Thor: The Dark World."
With this in mind, the Inquisitr assumes the logical conclusion: Captain America would not die in "Captain America: Civil War."
Initially, the Disney-Marvel partnership seemed to have planned for a two-part "Civil War," but since the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" have already set up a big blast in the "Infinity Wars," the showrunners are compelled to do only one.
And since those movies are not due until 2018 and 2019, there is the possibility that the MCU would be saying goodbye to Evans through the Spider-Man movie or maybe another Civil War.
But who knows? All these remain speculation until an official announcement or an actual movie is released, so consider them with a grain of salt.
"Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
