A grand parade greeted Holly Holm in her homecoming to Albuquerque, Mexico on Sunday.

TMZ said the "all out" parade was done to recognize Holm's achievement as the new UFC Women's champion after she defeated Ronda Rousey.

It added that thousands of people gathered for the event, which was also attended by the mayor and other city officials. Holm also joined the parade. Daily Mail estimated the crowd to be around 20,000.

A similar Fox Sports report noted that this was Holm's first time to come back to her hometown after her victory over Rousey at UFC 193.

It became an emotional event for the UFC champ as she was overwhelmed with the presence of so many people who wanted to extend their congratulations for her recent feat.

"I'm not done yet. We're still going to take it to the top. I love you guys. Thank you so much!" Home told the crowd.

She also reportedly apologized for not being able to bring her title belt because she "accidentally" left it at home.

Holm also extended her heartfelt gratitude to all her supporters, whom she claimed helped her strive harder with her MMA career.

'My fans started here, my whole career started here. It wasn't just my team that helped me believe in myself but it was the support of Albuquerque and I just thank you so much.' The crowd cheered and chanted her name, of course," she was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

She noted that she owes a lot to her fans and the people in her hometown.

"I feel like I don't have enough of me to give back to you. I feel there's so much love out there. I love you so much. Merry Christmas," Holm added.

Last month, the then undefeated Rousey bowed down to Holm who claimed a knockout victory during the second round of their fight in Melbourne, Australia.

According to Yahoo Sports, Holm showcased her aggression and Rowdy offered a memorable defeat.

It added that Rousey was the aggressive fighter during the beginning of the game, "looking for the right hold and taking head shots along the way." But Holm was able to see an opening 59 seconds after the start of the second round.

The winning fighter threw a kick at Rousey's head after the the latter stumbled during contact. This sent the former undefeated UFC fighter down on the canvas.

Holm was able to deliver several brutal blows on Rousey's head before the referee got in between them, which ended the 12-fight unbeaten run of Rowdy, and handed the bantamweight title to the New Mexico native.
