Screenshots of the new Samsung Galaxy S6, which will run on the Android 6.0, have appeared online and show a new design for the device update.

GSM Arena said the screen snaps show a redesigned TouchWiz UI, which has more white space.

"From the current batch of screenshots, the setting toggles in the notification panel show the most major change. They're now on a grey background and are colored in blue," added the same report.

The same report said that no information has been released yet on the availability of the update, but noted that it could be introduced next month along with that of the Galaxy S6 Edge.

In addition, PhoneArena said that Samsung could be following the trend of Apple flattening its iOS and Android having colourful design guidelines.

It also noted that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow could also come with a Pro mode for its camera application, which can set the shutter speed, ISO, exposure, white balance and other manual settings.

"The Note 5 currently has this feature in its camera interface, and it is apparently coming to the Galaxy S6 as well, for the unbridled joy of its owners," added the same report.

According to Android Authority, fans have yet to react and decide if the new Android Marshmallow design is better than Samsung's existing Lollipop design.

In recalling the features of the Samsung Galaxy S6, BGR said it has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 pixels) with a pixel density of 577ppi. As for its processor, the phone has an Exynos 7420 octacore (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) chipset along with 3GB of RAM. The handset has a 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage but has no external and expandable memory option.

As for its camera, the same report said it has a 16MP front shooter with optical image stabilisation and a 5MP front shooter.

"It is equipped with a 2,550mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode, wireless charging and fast charging capabilities. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, NFC, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1," added BGR.

On the other hand, Phone Arena said the design of the Galaxy S6 is a visually appealing smartphone because of its glass metal build.

"It's undoubtedly exhibiting premium qualities worthy of its flagship status, but at the same time, it makes it fragile," noted the same report, adding that the phone also captures the attention of onlookers because of its premium look.

Released in April this year, the Galaxy S6 had a price tag of $495.
