A former Rockstar Games employee hinted that the developer is currently working on "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Danny Ross was at an informal AMA session on Reddit when a user asked him about Rockstar's future plans for its fans, WCCF Tech reported. Since Ross isn't under Rockstar anymore, he took the liberty to tease about the game's future, albeit a vague one.

"Really, Dumbass. Really? Two," he replied at the user's query. This statement could appear confusing to some, but the clue seemed to fall into place if you pick out the first alphabet of each word. It spells out as RDR 2, or "Red Dead Redemption 2."

'Red Dead Redemption 2' - More Rumors

In November, CrossMap cited a Reddit user named AnonDN1978, who claimed that the upcoming game will be set 12 years prior to the original game, making "Red Dead Redemption 2" a prequel rather than what was initially believed as a sequel.

Earlier last month, a source from Cyberland revealed that Rockstar is "currently finalizing their plans for 'GTAV' and they are going to focus on 'RDR2' now. Rockstar expects the game to be out by October next year as long as the devs doesn't hit any road blocks during development," CrossMap claimed in a separate report.

AnonDN1978 also said that the installment will have a multiplayer game called gang mode and that the follow-up will be titled "'Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West," the news outlet added. The Reddit user noted that the developer has been working on the sequel for 3 and 1/2 years now.

Regarding the probable storyline of "Red Dead Redemption 2," users will reportedly be given an option to play as three characters: Irish and Seth or a new third character that is customizable and will be available as "a gun for hire of sorts," CrossMap added.

It should be noted that these are all speculations at the moment and fans will still have to wait for an official announcement from the developer.

In December 2014, Rockstar said that they are not rushing when it comes to producing sequels for their video games, but they will "get to them eventually."

Straus Zelnich, CEO of Take Two and is also the company that owns Rockstar, said in the most recent Cowen and Company analyst conference that "Red Dead" is going to be a franchise, CrossMap further reported. There are also rumors claiming that the sequel will feature the story of Jack, John Marston's vengeful son, and will reportedly head to all present generation consoles, such as PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
