This Friday marks the return of "Bones" from its winter hiatus featuring the introduction of a new villain in the drama series.
According to CarterMatt.com, the title of the upcoming episode, "The Ghost in the Killer," hints about the arrival of a new "major villain for the season," called the Ghost Killer, who has been teased in the past. Apparently, the mysterious figure likes to hang out in the shadows and is nothing like their tech super-genius processor Pelant.
Executive producer Stephen Nathan dropped more spoilers about the villain, telling TV Line that the serial killer "will not necessarily be personified" in the upcoming episode. "We will know that he or she -- most probably a she -- exists," the EP adds, "but this is a very ephemeral villain."
Nathan also revealed that Squintern Wendell "is greeted with a pretty shocking health concern" which he will have to deal with "for the rest of the season." Meanwhile, on a lighter note, Booth and Brennan will find themselves navigating some of the "crazy little practical things" that newlyweds and parents often face. "What happens if something happens to one or both of them?" Nathan muses. "What is their financial situation? Are they pooling their money? All of the practical things that confront couples will be confronting Booth and Brennan."
A synopsis of upcoming episode states that the team will run across a case where a girl was murdered 18 years ago after her remains are delivered to Brennan and Booth's home. One possible suspect in the murder is an ex-boyfriend, who was friends with Hodgins. In the meantime, Brennan has another dream about Pelant along with a potentially more heinous killer, who may be involved with the girl's death, reports Examiner.com.
