Following a brief winter hiatus, "Arrow" producers promise that the show will return with a "bang" to the CW on Jan. 15.

As fans may recall, the series ended when Brother Blood aka alderman Sebastian Blood used the Mirakuru serum to create a super-powered army, in addition to injecting Roy as his next test subject. It was also revealed that Slade Wilson is standing behind Blood and seeking revenge against Oliver. Plus, Barry Allen aka The Flash paid Starling City a visit, where he charmed Felicity and made Oliver jealous.

A promo of the all-new episode titled "Blast Radius," hints that the show will be action-packed and filled with lots of fighting and shooting scenes. In the clip, Oliver is spotted on the hunt for an enemy that he's determined to track down. Then the teaser shows a flurry of multiple action scenes featuring arrows being shot, walls getting punched, gun shots blasting off and someone being punched while hanging upside down.

Show producer Andrew Kreisberg dropped a few spoilers about the upcoming show, telling TV Line, "We're coming back [from the holidays] with a bang. We'll be seeing Slade and his machinations to bring about Oliver's downfall." He continued saying that "Slade has a very specific goal in the back half of the season, and I think people will be surprised to discover both what it is and what it means to Oliver."

Amanda Waller will also make a return later on in the season to serve up another Diggle-centric episode and to help unfold what's been going on with Laurel. "These next four episodes are a big Laurel chapter," said Kreisberg. "We'll see her drug use come back to bite her, and she hits rock bottom." In turn, "Katie Cassidy is delivering the most amazing performances," including in pre-island flashbacks from Miss Lance's POV.

He also spoke about the romantic sparks between Felicity and Oliver, stating, "We just do what we feel is right and up until this point we've been lucky that most of the audience has agreed with our choices.... Our lead has chemistry with multiple actresses. It's nothing we're going to be upset about."

Speaking of Felicity, Kreisberg told TV Line that fans will have to wait a while before they find out her backstory.

"We have known for a long time what Felicity's background is, where she came from and who her parents are. But it could be such a big story that it's something that we might hold off on. In a rare display of, 'Oh, that might be too much,' we might have to wait on that," he said.

"Arrow" S2E10, "Blast Radius," airs on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
