This coming December, Xbox Live Gold members who are under the Games with Gold program, will have the ability download great games for free for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Below is a list of games for next month's promo:

1. "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing"

Major Nelson said Xbox Live Gold members can download this $15 game for free on the Xbox One for the entire month of December.

According to Neocoregames, this is "a real-time action RPG, a game of action and theatrics, larger-than-life heroism and snappy dialogues, with wry humor and various twists on the well-known gothic clichés."

It added that the concept of the game revolves around Van Helsing, who is known to be a legendary vampire hunter. This is reportedly set in a location that resembles 19th century Europe.

2. "Thief"

Another free Xbox One game is "Thief," which will be available for download from December 16 to January 15. Gematsu said the game normally costs $29.99.

IGN noted that this Square Enix adventure game features a city that is full of sickness and famine and awaits change though Thief.

"This first-person adventure features intelligent design that allows players to take full control, with freedom to choose their path through the game's levels and how they approach and overcome each challenge," read the game description on IGN.

3. "Castlestorm"

On the other hand, "Castlestorm" will also come free for Xbox 360 players starting December 1 to 15. This game has a price tag of $9.99.

This game, according to Gamespot, is "a 2D projectile warfare and 2D physics-based destruction game." It noted that it has garnered great reviews from players, with an average rating of 7.1.

4. "Sacred 3"

The role-playing game "Sacred 3" happens in the world of Ancaria where clans join together to form a great form of resistance to start a battle, as per Metacritic.

This $19.99 game will be available for free on the Xbox 360 from Dec. 16 to Dec. 31.

Aside from these four great games, Major Nelson added that players will also be able to acquire "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" for free from December 16-31 as "an extra gift" for the holiday season.

Microsoft, in a statement quoted by Express, noted that for this year, Xbox Live Gold members "have saved over $1000 with Games with Gold on Xbox One and Xbox 360."

It also announced that next year, there will be better offers for gamers including doubling the free games that they get with Backward Compatibility.

"With Xbox One Backward Compatibility play multiplayer with your friends no matter which console they're on and enjoy Xbox 360 games with the advanced features of your Xbox One, including Game DVR, Screenshots, and in-home streaming to Windows 10," Microsoft added.
