Retirement is one of those beautiful states of mind that many people look forward to. It is the period when people hope to reap the fruits of their years of hard work.

While many people want to retire to tropical paradises like Hawaii, foodies can very well find a slice of Paradise in Medellin, Colombia. In a report with US Money, Medellin is a beautiful city with a temperate climate. Because of its near perfect climate, the city has come to be known as "the city of eternal springtime."

The city is also rich in culture, a melting pot of diversity. Citizens find that there are a myriad of activities in the sophisticated city. Residents can take in the local opera, or a museum. Locals can choose to go into the nightclubs, dance clubs as well as white-glove restaurants.

Medellin is quickly catching the interest of many people. The place is rich in tradition, but is also known to catch up on urban chic trends. Local Colombians, foreign investors, tourists and, international retirees are flocking to the city. Cost of living in the city should set retirees back at $1,200 a month including $500 for rent.
