Thanksgiving is that time of the year when people are reminded that there is always something to be grateful for. These days, Thanksgiving is associated with Black Friday sales, cranberry sauce, pumpkin spice lattes and the ever-popular turkey.

Celebrating Thanksgiving can also be a celebration of one's heritage. Households can get creative with their Thanksgiving feasts and go beyond the usual pumpkin pie and roast turkey fare. For this holiday season, it would be best to surprise dinner guests by adding some Mexican flavor.

Embellish the Mexican-themed Thanksgiving dinner with some guacamole! Kick the recipe up a notch by adding some mangoes and pomegranates for that holiday zest to it. Guests will certainly find the guacamole to be a tasteful appetizer for the rest of the meal.
