A 12-year-old girl became the envy of all her peers after she was lucky enough to snap a selfie with Prince William.

The 31-year-old Duke of Cambridge took a picture with Madison Lambe after she visited the Sandringham Estate on Christmas Day to watch the Royal family walk from their house to church. He even took the picture for the English schoolgirl who became too nervous to press the button on her mom's phone.

According to the Daily Mail, Madison was originally hoping to pose with Queen Elizabeth II for a picture as the royal family walked to the annual holiday service at St. Mary Magdalene Church. However, she was pleasantly surprised when the future king took the time to grant her wish instead.

"I couldn't believe it when William came over to me and I asked for a picture," she said, according to the BBC News. "He just said to me, 'You can't beat a good selfie on Christmas Day,' and took the picture."

"It was really good," she added, "I didn't expect it...He was really nice, and I was so excited. I've put the picture on Facebook. My friends think it is really good and they have been commenting on it."

Madison's mother, Paula Scrupps, said she "didn't really expect her [daughter] to get any pictures, but certainly didn't think she would come back with a 'selfie' with William."

Prince Charles is actually the first royal to take a selfie. He took one with a young boy earlier this month. "I went up to him and said if I could take a photograph of him, and then, well, I didn't wait for the body guards to push me out of the way, I just took a picture," the youngster told the U.K.'s Daily Express.
