Titanfall is one of the most hotly anticipated upcoming games; its innovative mix of online multiplayer, single-player story elements, mech combat and first-person shooters has plenty of gamers salivating. Despite its treasure trove of features, one thing the game will not support at launch is mods, according to a new Twitter post from the co-founder of developer Respawn Entertainment.

When one fan asked Vince Zampella, one of the founders of Respawn Entertainment as well as one of the founders of the Call of Duty series, if the game would support mods for mapping tools for the PC version of Titanfall, Zampella stated that there is definitely no support for mapping mods for the game at launch. However, Zampella said that Respawn is considering adding the feature after the game is launched on March 11.

This is undoubtedly disappointing to the modding community. The game could lead to some interesting customized maps for players to download and explore. With the ability to control human soldiers as well as giant robots during the game, having players create new maps for the game could extend the life of the game and lead to some of the fan-made maps being added officially to the game later.

In any case, even though Titanfall will not be able to support mods for the game at launch on the PC, fans are eager to get their hands on the game. The game will be available not just on the PC, but will also be on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 as well. While the game will be exclusive to Xbox consoles, there is a possibility that future games in the series could appear on the PlayStation 4 as well.

Titanfall could be one of the first games on the new generation of consoles to offer an innovative experience for gamers. The game will only have online multiplayer matches, but the game will have a story that blends into the multiplayer deathmatches. The story will be affected depending on which team wins the match, so that the game's story is not confined to a single-player campaign that Respawn feels as though players will just ignore. This, combined with the game's frantic combat will help it stand out among the first games launched for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
