Brazil shone on Tuesday during the World Cup qualifying match versus Peru as Douglas Costa led the team to a 3-0 victory.

A Reuters report published by Yahoo Sports said this recent win brought Brazil to the third place of the South American qualifying group for the 2018 tournament in Russia.

Costa his team's first goal in the 21-minute mark. It was followed by Renato Augusto in the second half then Filipe Luis made another in 76 minutes.

"It was very important to win after the draw in Argentina and we did well. The team is growing and getting better every game and we are finding a style of play that we want," Luis told Reuters.

For his part, Brazil coach Dunga admitted mistakes of the team but noted that the competition is still expected to be a long one.

"We are at the beginning. The championship will be long, complicated as it always is. We see a lot now, but if past qualifiers are analysed, [we] also had problems in the beginning," he told Bleacher Report.

According to The Guardian, this is Brazil's second win in four matches and leaves them five points behind Ecuador, which remains undefeated after it recently beat Venezuela.

Last week, the match between Brazil and Argentina last Friday ended in a 1-1 draw.

ESPN noted that the game showed that Argentina, despite missing star player Lionel Messi, "showed purpose and initiative, acting decisively with the ball and playing like a team rather than a collection of individuals."

A similar SB Nation nation report, however said that Argentina put pressure on their opponent's defines early on the game but they struggled to connect the final ball to create a great attack.

Brazil, for its part, was able to go forward with their gameplay but was not able to sustain this performance to keep Argentina from answering their moves.

But for their Tuesday game, the Brazilian team came more prepared to face their opponents.

Costa told Goal that he is trying to replicate his form in his German Club Bayern Munich during World Cup qualifying matches.

"Little by little I'm gaining the confidence to be more relaxed in the game, to play the same way as I do for Bayern: with freedom," he added.

Costa also mentioned that it is also different in the German club since he is the sole Brazilian player.

"But at Bayern is a little different because I'm the only Brazilian. Here we have Ney (Neymar), Willian... so we start to have more quality in the attack. This also helps a lot," he noted.

The team is not expected to play again until March next year, as per Bleacher Report.
