Here's how the rumors about iPhone 7 compare with Apple's already released iPhone 6s.
Design & Display
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone 7 will measure between 6.0mm-6.5mm, and will be equipped with a glass-on-glass touch panel, Neuro Gadget reported. This means that the iPhone 7 will not bear the standard bezel design type like its predecessors.
Neuro Gadget assumed that the iPhone 7 will also have the 3D Touch display of the iPhone 6s, and possibly a QHD with a resolution of 2560×1440.
According to Apple's website, the iPhone 6s has a 4-7-inch Retina HD display with 1334-by-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi. The device comes in Silver, Gold, Space Gray, and Rose Gold color options.
Processor, Camera, & Battery
Rumors claim that the iPhone 7 will be powered by an Intel LTE processor. The device is expected to have a 12MP primary camera capable of 4K video recording, Neurogadget added.
Many iPhone users and market experts hope that Apple will increase the battery size of their smartphones, but Kuo's speculation indicated that the tech giant will not veer away from the AMOLED display for the iPhone 7. This also means that a bigger battery for the device is unlikely.
"AMOLED is significantly more power efficient than the LED-backlit IPS LCD panels Apple has been using for years. Combine this with plans for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to be just 6-6.5mm thick, which makes a much bigger battery for that generation unlikely," Forbes wrote.
The iPhone 6s is powered with an A9 chip with embedded M9 motion coprocessor, Apple noted. It has a 12MP iSight camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, 4K video recording, a 5MP FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID, 2GB RAM, and a 1715 mAh Li-Po battery, GSM Arena listed.
iPhone 7 to Have Waterproof Feature?
Alphr reported that the iPhone 7 could have a waterproof feature when it rolls out in the market. A new patent filed by Apple describes a system that utilizes electric charges to push out water, effectively keeping the iPhone's internal parts dry.
Manufacturers have already made most areas of a mobile device waterproof through the use of rubber seals, but speakers and other parts are still vulnerable to liquid. Apple's patent said that the system will function by detecting liquid presence, then applying an electric charge over the surface area, Alphr added.
Note that all these information about the iPhone 7 are speculations at the moment and an official statement from Apple is yet to be had.
